Town
of Williamston Development Zone Business Tax Incentives
Willliamston qualifies as a Development Zone and is treated as Tier 1
for the purposes of the wage standard, the threshold for machinery and
equipment investment, and the credit for worker training.
- $4,000 credit per job for businesses
creating jobs in the zone, in addition to credits allowed under the
William S. Lee Act.
- A 7% credit for investing in machinery
and equipment, with no threshold
- Up to $1000/employee credit for worker
training
To qualify for these credits, businesses
will need to meet the wage standard in the William S. Lee Qualifying
Jobs and Business Expansion Act that applies to Tier 1 counties (100% of
the applicable average weekly wage for the county).
