During
a recent tour of the new NCTeleCenter, members of the Northeast Economic
Developers were impressed with the possibilities and opportunities the
facility holds for the northeast.
The
Economic Developers group was created under the umbrella of the North
Carolina’s Northeast Partnership, which is made up of 16 counties in the
Northeast. Together they endorsed Martin County as the location of one of
five newly created TeleCenters across the state.
The
developers held their monthly meeting at the center in order to
examine the facilities. Karen Coltrain, director of operations at the
center, led the group on a tour of the facilities explaining the current and
future uses of the various spaces.
“The
TeleCenter is really outstanding. It will open the door to tech growth in
the Northeast,” said Bob Spivey, mayor of Windsor and Chairman of the
Northeast Partnership.
Mayor
of Williamston, Tommy Roberson and Martin County Commissioner Chairman,
Tommy Bowen were on hand to welcome the visitors and thank them for their
support.
Roff
Blizzard, director of Special Projects, and Research for Senator Marc
Basnight, were on hand to offer the senator’s support for the project and
the future needs of the Northeast.
